Project Pioneer

Project Pioneer is dedicated to helping township trustees, municipal agencies, historical organizations, and private property owners identify, preserve, and protect forgotten cemeteries. Many of these historic burial grounds have been neglected, overgrown, or lost to time. Our mission is to ensure they are documented, respected, and preserved for future generations.

Through Project Pioneer, we strive to:

• Locate abandoned and forgotten cemeteries.

• Identify and document known burials.

• Preserve and repair surviving monuments using ethical preservation practices.

• Record and map cemetery locations for future research and protection.

• Promote awareness of local history through education and community involvement.

Every forgotten cemetery represents a chapter of our nation's history. Through Project Pioneer, we are committed to recovering and preserving the memories of America's pioneers, ensuring their stories, sacrifices, and legacies are never lost to time.
